O’Neill’S

Overview

O’Neill’S on 2051 Richmond Rd, Lexington, KY 40502, United States, has quickly become one of my favorite spots for casual dining with a twist of comfort and sophistication. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere immediately feels welcoming, a perfect blend of modern décor with cozy accents that invite long conversations over meals. Having visited several times, I can confidently say this place strikes a balance between laid-back diner vibes and thoughtful culinary execution.

The menu is a delightful mix of classic American favorites and inventive specials that keep regulars coming back. I’ve personally tried their signature burgers, and the flavor combination is nothing short of impressive-the beef is juicy, seasoned just right, and paired with fresh toppings that elevate the experience. Another standout is the grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables; it’s clear that the kitchen prioritizes freshness and presentation, something that not every local diner consistently delivers. For those who enjoy comfort food, their mac and cheese is creamy with a golden crust, a perfect example of indulgent yet satisfying cooking.

During one visit, I noticed the staff going out of their way to make diners feel at home. A colleague mentioned that their brunch options are particularly popular on weekends, and from experience, I can attest that arriving early is wise to snag a spot without a wait. The service is consistently attentive yet relaxed, which complements the overall vibe of a neighborhood gem. Even with a busy Saturday lunch crowd, the team managed orders efficiently while keeping a personal touch that makes every visit memorable.

O’Neill’S also shows commitment to quality sourcing. According to a recent feature in a Lexington culinary magazine, they prioritize local ingredients whenever possible, ensuring dishes are fresh and flavors are robust. This focus on quality resonates through every menu item, whether it’s a simple salad or a hearty entrée. I’ve also noticed their rotating specials often highlight seasonal produce, which not only keeps the menu dynamic but supports local farmers.

What makes this location stand out, beyond the food itself, is how it embraces community. They regularly host small events and seasonal promotions, which makes dining here more than just a meal-it’s a social experience. Reviews from long-time patrons often mention how the team remembers favorite orders or accommodates dietary preferences, reflecting an understanding of customer care that goes beyond the ordinary.

Even in the realm of beverages, O’Neill’S offers thoughtfully curated options. From craft beers to specialty coffees, each drink pairs well with the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience. On my last visit, I opted for their seasonal cocktail, and it perfectly complemented a savory entrée, demonstrating a level of detail in drink pairing that many local diners overlook.

For anyone exploring Lexington, this diner’s location on Richmond Road makes it easy to find and convenient for a casual lunch, brunch, or dinner outing. The combination of inventive dishes, attentive staff, and community-oriented approach gives it an edge over typical diners. Patrons often leave glowing reviews, praising both the food and the experience, making it clear that O’Neill’S is more than just a place to eat-it’s a destination for enjoying thoughtful, well-crafted meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

I have been visiting this local bar for many years now, and I absolutely love the atmosphere. I am a huge fan of the wings here. But what sticks out the most to me, is that they always remember my name, my drinker order, and what I enjoy ordering for my food. Even when I have stints where I don't visit for a while, it's like picking up the book and continuing reading. It means so much to me. To all the staff, but specifically Chad, thanks for making this atmosphere so great!

We dropped by after a concert and were hungry. We were immediately greeted by the bartender and he told us to sit anywhere we liked and that the kitchen was open until midnight. We sat outside and loved it. We went with the wings (Jamaican jetk and garlic parm) and they were excellent! We also got an order of fried mushrooms that were great! The service was awesome and both guys that waited on us were super friendly and kept our glasses from going empty. I couldn't ask for more from a place after 11 PM on a weeknight. The music being played was great and just the right volume. We will most definitely be back!

Those wings are killer. Got “hot” with blue cheese. Big chunky blue cheese was great, spice was good and the flavor hut that nostalgic vinegary flavor I love. Wings were about as close to buffalo style as you’ll find in Lexington. Would definitely recommend

I had never been out on St. Patrick's Day. I went to O'Neills with a friend and we had a great great time. They had karaoke and a live band and I was really surprised at all the people that were there and the food they were serving was on one sheet of paper. This made sense because it was so crowded. You couldn't make all that food off of the regular menu so that was a good idea. They did good there.

Hands down the best bar food in Lex. It’s a pretty unassuming place so it took me a while to swing by (on a whim one day). But it’s great!
